Strawberry Rose Petal Chocolate Bark
Ingredients:
2 bars of white chocolate (about 100g each)
1 bar of milk chocolate (about 100g)
Fresh rose petals, edible and unsprayed (a small handful)
Strawberries, sliced into thin slivers (about 1 cup)
Almond slivers (about 1/2 cup)
Equipment:
Baking sheet
Parchment paper
Toothpick or skewer for swirling
Freezer
Instructions:
Preparation:
Start by lining a baking sheet with parchment paper to ensure your chocolate bark can be easily removed after setting.
Arranging the Chocolate:
Place the two bars of white chocolate and the one bar of milk chocolate side by side on the parchment-lined baking sheet, keeping them close to each other so they will blend together as they melt.
Melting the Chocolate:
Place the baking sheet in a very low oven (about 120°C or 250°F) for just a few minutes until the chocolate begins to melt. ~10 minutes
Creating the Marbled Effect:
Using a toothpick or the tip of a skewer, gently swirl through the melted chocolates to create a beautiful marbled effect. Work quickly to blend the chocolates together before they start to set.
Adding the Toppings:
Arrange the strawberry slivers on top of the still-soft chocolate in a heart shape or any design that pleases you. The fresh burst of red from the strawberries will stand out beautifully against the marbled backdrop.
Evenly sprinkle the almond slivers over the chocolate, adding a delightful crunch and nutty flavor.
Scatter the edible rose petals over the top. The petals will add a romantic and aromatic touch to the bark.
Setting the Chocolate Bark:
Carefully transfer the baking sheet to the freezer and let the chocolate bark set for about 30 minutes. The quick chill will help the chocolate firm up evenly and preserve the crisp texture of the toppings.
Breaking and Serving:
Once the chocolate bark is fully set, remove it from the freezer. Lift the parchment paper to release the bark and break it into irregular pieces. The bark should snap easily into shards, revealing the beautiful marbled effect and the vibrant toppings.
Serve immediately as a decadent treat, or store in an airtight container in the refrigerator until ready to enjoy. This chocolate bark makes a stunning and thoughtful homemade gift or a perfect end to a romantic meal.
Tips:
Be sure to use edible, unsprayed rose petals- I used one that was prepared specifically for tea or this type of application.
Adjust the quantity of strawberries and almond slivers to your preference. More or less can be used to create different textures and flavors.
For a more intense flavor contrast, experiment with different types of chocolate, such as using dark chocolate in place of milk chocolate. Pistachios also pair well with the rose petal flavor and add another contrast in color.
